Welcome to our very first Topical Tuesday feature!  I spent weeks trying to decide what to make the very first one about, I mean being first is such a lot of pressure don't you think??  Until I just had to get on with it, so I sat down and made a card using one of my favourite techniques - distressing!

For my card base I used Scattered Straw and the direct to paper technique and rubbed the colour on around the outer edge.  My next layer uses Seedless Preserves and using the sponge I 'stamped' the colour on and edged it in Black Soot.  You'll see in the video the ink pad running away from me, I didn't even notice this while I was stamping lol!

To add the colour to my flowers I used sponge daubers and selecting the middle colour first - Scattered Straw - I dabbed the colour on to my flower, then Peeled Paint and finally Seedless Preserves across the top edge.  Give your stamp a 'huff' of breath and stamp.

I then distressed around my image with Scattered Straw.  I use the Inkssentials sponges and because I only have a few I actually have one colour up one end and another up another.  As I worked inward my centre panel picked up a little of the darker ink from the opposite end of the sponge...cool don't you think?

My centre panel has been raised with dimensional foam as well as the note tag.  To make my tag I simply cut a rectangle piece of card, clip off one corner then flip this cut piece over to the other corner and use it as a guide and cut, easy!

Here's the video I made whilst making the card.

Thanks for watching!
