Crayon resist is a fun and easy technique using a white crayon to highlight certain parts of your stamped image that you wish to remain white.
Plus it's a great excuse to raid your kids art supplies for the white crayon that never gets used lol!

Supplies:
~White Cardstock(Matt or Gloss, I used Matt)

~White Crayon(you can use a lighter colour crayon too)

~Stamps(I have used AnnaBelle Stamps 'Daisy Delights' and 'Fanciful Flowers' Stamp Sets)

~Black Ink(I have used Black Memento Ink, you can also use Stazon or any Dye Inks)

~Coloured Inks(Milled Lavender and Dusty Concord Distress Inks used here)

~Sponges

~Paper Towel(you can also use an old rag to remove excess ink off the crayon)

~Embellishments Of Your Choice(I have used AnnaBelle Stamps White Satin Ribbon, Purple Twine, Lavender Button, 3mm Icicle Sprinkles and from my stash a stick pin)

Here's a pic of my finished card:

Method:
1) Stamp your chosen image/s onto your cardstock using Black ink.

2) Using your White crayon, colour your chosen parts of your image or use the crayon to highlight where you want white areas to be.  I coloured all the petals on my flowers.

3) Using a sponge or a sponge applicator, start applying colour using your coloured inks gently in a round motion fashion, I applied the lighter purple first then used the dark one and blended the two colours together to get the desired affects I was after.

4) When you have finished with applying your ink, use a paper towel or old rag and gently remove the excess ink that is on top of the white crayon and watch your image 'Pop'!

5) Now use your image or stamped crayon resist panel to create cards, layouts or off the page projects, the possibilities are endless!

I used my panel on a card using Purple and White cardstock and I tie some White Satin Ribbon around my panel and I also used some Purple Twine, A Lavender Button and a Stick Pin, I stamped my sentiment 'Best Wishes' in Black ink and I finished off my card by placing some gorgeous 3mm Icicle Sprinkles in my flower centers!

It's such an easy technique and I do hope you give it a go, I can't wait to see all your creations but remember if you don't have a White crayon try using a Pale Yellow or Pink and make this technique yours lol!

Thanks so much for joining me on my very first tutorial ever lol and if you have any questions, just yell out!

Don't forget to share your projects in the gallery for everyone to see!

Till next time, Take Care and Keep Smiling,
Hugs,
Kylie XX

Loved your tutorial Kylie! I've never tried it but I just may have to give it a go! Do you think waxy coloured pencil would work as well?

Lovely card Kylie - those colours are so great. Must do that sprinkles thing in the centre of the flowers - looks good. Great tutorial.
